Tortured Soul
5:53:00 pmI stumbled across this while at a film location for the shooting if a
friend's film. It lies in an abandoned hospital ward in the nurse unit
manager's office.
Stencil Sports
1:48:00 pmYou would be forgiven for thinking this is a Graffiti photoblog these days. You see, it is winter in Melbourne and unlike the majority of Australia, we do have a real, cold, wet winter that is cold enough to be gloomy yet not cold enough to bring snow to the streets. The fact that Melbourne fashion subscribes to the school of 'black is still the new black' further adds to the gloom yet walk down an alley or two and you will be greeted by a collaborative cacophony of colours thats puts the Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras to shame.
Hence I have been taking many photographs painted walls of late. Painted walls? Sorry, I meant public canvases.
That said, can you make out what this stencil piece is depicting?
Watch Me!

Triple Scoop
1:12:00 pmThis figure and ones just like her appear in a few of Melbourne's Laneways and Alleys. I think this one is the oldest surviving example. The airbrushesque technique used on a figure like this is quite unique and is just as effective a caling card as the ubiquitous 'Deb' branding.
Thanks Deb.

I was sorely tempted to shoot this in black and white but the red hair was simply irrepressible.
