Pheidole Pegasus
1:18:00 pmPegasus prances purposefully past pleased patrons, proclaiming peace and power.
Pegasus is my second most favourite character in Greek mythology, second only to Perseus. Both characters are due to feature in the remake of the film Clash of the Titans which is scheduled for release in the coming months. Call me a cynic but after seeing it's trailer, looks to be another Hollywood botch-up of what is otherwise a great tale.

Snacking
1:02:00 pmA slightly disheveled chipmunk has a quick snack atop Mt. Seorak in Korea's Taebaek range. So much cuter than those nasty squirrels.
This was my first time to see a chipmunk and first time since childhood to stand above the clouds.
Jellyfish
11:10:00 pmSo this is the shot I got during my trip to the beach.
No, I didn't actually run into these guys on the beach...

Mother
5:53:00 amMother & kitten observe the comings and goings of a Melbourne Arcade.
This is one of the reasons I love Melbourne. That which serves a utilitarian purpose can have a splash of fun. Be it a structural marvel like the wave roof of Southern Cross Station or a cute pattern on a tiled doorway, such is Melbourne.
Oh, and I like my cats to be inanimate so... bonus!
Arthropodious
1:06:00 amI've been teaching in a Saturday school for the past couple months which has been an great opportunity to try some different teaching methods, the most fun of which being when the students relate scientific theory to their own experiences. I was telling the story behind this photograph and using it to demonstrate the otherwise dry topic of the structures of Arthropods. One student then proceeded to tell the class how he once caught a mosquito "by the ass… oh, abdomen", and the blood it had collected through its proboscis squirted out everywhere while it tried to escape from his clutches. Nice.

Bourke Street Birdie
12:01:00 pm This Galah can talk but backed away when I replied.
It was outside a shop near the corner of Bourke and Russell Streets, a place I have passed many a time but never seen, or perhaps noticed, this bird.
I think I'll have keep my camera oh hand more often this summer.
Morning commute
2:00:00 pmThough I'm not entirely sure I'd say these are penguin prints, as seen from a cliffside lookout.
Lady
12:38:00 am Location: Williamstown, Victoria, Australia.
A Lady bug scurries across a hot sun-beaten rock. These rocks were hot enough to be uncomfortable for me, and I have two feet not six.
