Bamboo, Illuminated
3:08:00 amThis is pretty different, but I thought a contrast would be nice. This was taken at night in winter, during Kyoto's annual Hanatourou (literally, flower-lantern-road) light-up.
I miss Japan.

Triple Scoop
1:12:00 pmThis figure and ones just like her appear in a few of Melbourne's Laneways and Alleys. I think this one is the oldest surviving example. The airbrushesque technique used on a figure like this is quite unique and is just as effective a caling card as the ubiquitous 'Deb' branding.
Thanks Deb.
Red
3:49:00 amMore Oxford homeowner colour-obsession.
You really need to view the enlarged version. It's all in the details... The little old lady in the red jumper, the red painted details (pipes again!), and the neighbouring house, which is structurally identical, but white-washed.

Purple, Again
11:27:00 pmI wonder: did the homeowners paint their pipes purple to match the flowers? Or did they plant those flowers to match their pipes?

5:47:00 amYou know how people get Winter-depression? I think I'm suffering from lack-of-seasons-depression.

Billabong
9:49:00 pmA Sunday picnic turned forrest exploration adventure. Life's good in country Victoria.
That said the billabong use to be easily thrice the size it is now. How dry will the Australia of my children be?
