This is pretty different, but I thought a contrast would be nice. This was taken at night in winter, during Kyoto's annual Hanatourou (literally, flower-lantern-road) light-up.

Japanese kids are generally cute. They tend to be quiet, and somewhat happy. Who wants another screaming, crying, kicking brat? This kid was hanging out with his mom at Tokyo's Imperial Palace on a Sunday afternoon.
