En-Route to Boryong Beach for the Mud Pack Festival.
A bus load of foreigners and booze.
Hilarity ensued, as did multiple toilet stops. This was just one of such stops.

Riverside Suzie

Riverside Suzie, originally uploaded by Sporking Roark.

Location: Daegu, Korea

Here is my bi-wheeled gal, Suzie.
She left me for another man who he gave me a wad of money to ease the pain.
You can't buy love, you can't buy off pain.
Sigh.

삼덕소방서, 자전거로 여행하다

Location: Samdeok Fire Station Precinct, Downtown Daegu, Korea

Retro bicycles, scooters and motorbike abound in Daegu. Ah I miss it.
I had my own retro styled scooter. A child like smile beamed across my face every time fired it up and gave the throttle a twist.
I think I just might add a photo of it tomorrow.

Fire festival

1:16:00 am

Fire festival, originally uploaded by Sporking Roark.

Location: Mootae, Bukgu, Daegu, Korea

The full moon fire festival is held every year on the first full moon of spring. In Mootae it is held in a big aqueduct, which dries up over winter but flows again with the arrival of spring's rain. Why is this significant? Well, as you can see from the photo it is raining and several hundred people are standing in what is a glorified storm water drain. Somehow we didn't get our feet wet, yet sure enough a torrent of water was flowing through here so sooner than the last firework had gone 'pop'.

Reaching up

9:41:00 pm

Reaching up, originally uploaded by Sporking Roark.

Location: Homigot, Pohang, Korea

Two friends and I rode our 125cc scooters from Daegu to Pohang to check out the Homigot with nothing but a couple Korean maps, a tank full of gas and plenty of enthusiasm. Given that the national highways were a 'no go'  for scooters we knew it would be a small adventure but nothing could prepare us for the thrills of harassing farmers with my abysmal korean skills or inducing peak-houresk mayhem in tiny countryside gas stations, not to mention the joys of riding through hail (in t-shirts). Cruising through the rice fields and along the winding coast line was an experience I won't soon forget. However, I can't forget about the city Pohang quickly enough. It was an epic journey, albeit on a small scale, that I would love to do again. Perhaps with few more cc next time.

Peachy Ella

This sculpture attracted a lot of attention.
A nude made of peaches, I mean what could be better?

The security guard was having a tough time keeping people's dirty mitts off the sculpture. He gave me a spare peach after having a bit of a chin-wag, which made my day.

In Sydney again. I had quite a crowd gathering as I took this one. I think they were eager to see me fall into the harbor.
